Winchester's magnificent Grade II listed Theatre Royal has installed Race seating as a major element of its comprehensive refurbishment programme.

A total of 384 pedestal type tip-up seats have been installed in the stalls and circle with upholstery in five different colours of velour type fabric. The array of colours integrates with the other elements of the interior decoration to produce an outstandingly impressive interior. Other work in the programme included the restoration of the plaster mouldings and extensive application of gilding and aluminium foil decoration.

Race worked closely with the architects, Burrell Foley Fischer and the Theatre Memorial Fund to ensure that the seat design met all requirements in terms of sight-lines, comfort and aesthetics.
